Summer Fixtures 2023
Monday 19 June : Tony Vigars: a guided walk. “Turnpikes, Canal and Railways
The sites we visit are the two former stations (only one has any substantial remains), two of the bridges on turnpike routes, one tollhouse, the wharves and a stretch of the canal and a stretch of the LSWR line & its viaduct. It is about 2½ miles in length and we would be climbing up one relatively steep but short hill to get to the LSWR line – but otherwise it is on the level.
Meet at 7.00pm in Bedford Square, Tavistock
Contribution of £2 per person in cash (please pass to David Goodyear) which will be passed on to Tony’s recommended charity of Tavistock Local History Society, of which Tony is a leading member.
